our mission

At Sugar Works Adventure Park, our mission is to inspire courage, connection, and discovery within one’s self and team and in nature through exhilarating outdoor experiences.

Every challenge is designed to help teams and individuals grow, connect, and discover what they can accomplish. Our programs use hands-on outdoor challenges to strengthen communication, build confidence, and bring groups closer together while allowing individuals to discover what lies within themselves.

Big Fun, Real Impact

Sugar Works operates as the front-porch program of our parent organization, The Villages, Inc.

The Villages was founded in 1964 by Dr. Karl Menninger, of the world-famous Menninger family associated with ground-breaking mental health and social service practices.

Dr. Menninger believed whole-heartedly in the healing power of nature and family. Today, as The Villages hosts a variety of programs that exemplify that same vision in our internal social services programs - including maternity homes and youth residential programs - we at Sugar Works strive to also employ the same nature + family strategy in ways that allow the public to come to and enjoy our breathtaking land while simultaneously supporting the efforts of The Villages overall.
